Co-Production Training
Governance International provides a range of in-person, online and hybrid co-production training programmes based on the Co-Production Star toolkit. This equips public service commissioners and providers with a systematic framework to help improve outcomes and make savings. It combines the well-known Governance International "Four Co's Model" with our practical and detailed 5-step change management model.
Governance International offers public service providers and commissioners a range of inhouse, online or hybrid Co-Production Training Courses, starting from 2 hour briefing sessions to half and one day workshops and our full Co-Production Action Learning Programme, which includes five workshops as well as Co-Production Lab sessions to test new co-production initiatives in practice. These co-production training programmes have also received formal independent CPD accreditation from the CPD Standards Office in London. Delegates attending these courses can request a CPD Certificate of Attendance and can record their attendance towards their formal CPD requirements for their professional body, institute or employer.

“The Governance International Co-Production Star Training Programme has equipped me and my colleagues with valuable co-production skills. The Co-Production Labs, which were a key part of the training programme, even resulted in two new co-production initiatives – falls prevention and wellbeing with people living with diabetes. The Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership is now building on this training in transforming its commissioning practices.”
Anne McKenzie, Lead Commissioner, Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership
“I recently attended a training programme run by Governance International on its Co-production Star (funded by the Joint Improvement Team of the Scottish Government). The training was very informal, fun and very informative, exploring a lot of imaginative ways in which service users can work more effectively with public services.”
Ross MacPhail, VOX member, Scotland
“The Co-Production Star Training was very forward thinking and productive - I certainly got a lot from it. From my own experience of being on training in the past, I usually feel it has tended to be more about receiving information, with a minimal focus on using what is learned, where as your approach enables us all to try, test and reflect the learning in the ‘real world’.
Ian Duncan, Former Development Worker at CFINE, now Operational Service Development Officer, Grampian Housing Association
