How far have we come with co-production – and what's next?
This article summarises the state of the art of research on co-production based on a special issue on co-production in Public Money and Management. The authors highlight how the Governance International Four Co’s model provides a conceptual framework for the articles of the special issue. While the article provides evidence that effective co-production emerges during practice, the authors stress that co-production should not be seen as a panacea and that there is also a need to analyse the potentially ‘dark sides’ of co-production as well as its positive impacts.
