The Governance International 5 Step Model for Public Service Transformation
Step 4: Market It!
Co-Production will only work if all stakeholders concerned buy into new ways of working together. This is where effective communication and public marketing comes in. You need to identify nudges and incentives to positive action (and deterrents to negative action) for users, communities, managers and staff – both to get them started and to keep them going. Then build these into your own tailored version of the Governance International Co-production Charter for the service, setting out the roles, responsibilities and incentives for the users, for other citizens and, importantly, for all the staff involved.
