One day training seminar for service managers in local public services

Co-production by service users and communities is on everyone’s lips at the moment. While it is a key part of the government’s vision for a 'Big Society', there is still much confusion about:

• what is co-production?
• how can it best be encouraged by public agencies?
• how can public agencies make sure they can reap the benefits which co-production can bring?
• how can the third sector work with the public sector to ensure that service users and other citizens can make the maximum contribution to service improvement?

The Co-Production and Big Society Roadshow answers these questions and gives you the chance to catch up with important recent developments in national policy and in best practice in your region.
Members of the Department of Health's TASC Co-Production Group will be briefing participants on the DH guidance "Practical Approaches to Co-Production" and "Practical approaches to improving the lives of disabled and older people through building stronger communities" and will provide examples of co-production in adult social care and health. Then local case studies will be presented in each event, showing how these lessons and good practices can be built on, so that the Big Society can fill the gaps and improve outcomes in other service areas such as environment, neighbourhood management and children’s and young people’s services.
