“If you Want to go Fast, Walk Alone. If you Want to go Far, Walk Together”: Citizens and the Co-production of Public Services. A report by Elke Loeffler, Salvador Parrado, Tony Bovaird and Gregg Van Ryzin, Governance International in co-operation with Julie Gaillot and Marc-André Allard, Tns-Sofres Capgemini Consulting, for the Ministry of Budget, Public Finance and Public Services, Paris 2008.
This report shows revealing results on the role of citizens as co-producers in public services from a survey of European citizens undertaken by Governance International and Tns-Sofres in 2008. The survey was complemented by focus groups with professionals and representatives of NGOs involved in public service delivery, which allowed us to capture the views of service providers on this issue as well.
