How organisations with limited influence can make a difference. A literature review on influence strategies, good practices and evaluation frameworks. A Report by Governance International for the National Audit Office, London 2009.

The National Audit Office in the UK commissioned Governance International to undertake a study into how public sector organisations can achieve their social objectives through influencing partners and other organizations, including those in the private and third sectors. The key issue is what methods are available to ‘nudge’ these other organisations to change their behaviours in ways which will achieve social outcomes. This report hammers home the message: 'Control is not available any more - but there are many imaginative methods for influencing others to get your way'.

The report provides revealing case studies and a toolkit for using strategies of influence effectively.
