Empowering patients to need less care and do better in Highland Hospital, South Sweden

Objectives

The initiative was designed to rebalance the work of the unit, reducing the frustration of doing work which was rather fruitless and not being able to focus on the really important tasks. In addition, there was a desire  to diminish waiting lists through providing more appropriate and cost-effective medical treatment.
