Study Visits

Governance International study visits take you to see how things are done differently elsewhere. This is not like reading case studies on the web – it’s about being there, talking to the staff, talking to the politicians, talking to the service users. Study visits give you a flavour of what it’s really like to bring about change.

And our study visits are inter-active. We set up the meetings and the documentation, so that you have a solid understanding of the issues and innovations you will see – but you supply the intelligent questioning and probing of the people involved, so that you get a real feel for what they have done, why it has worked (and often what didn’t work). The result: you get the answers you need to take home with you.

Previous study visits have taken participants to Finland, Germany, France and the UK. More …

Study visits tailor-made to meet your needs

We can arrange tailor-made study visits for your organisation or partnership to many countries in Europe, if you tell us the topic in which you are interested. For example, Governance International recently organised a one-week study visit for Turkish local authorities to London on performance management issues and a 2-day study visit on community engagement to the Stuttgart region for a delegation from Bedford and the East of England region.

We are currently organising a number of tailor-made study visits to the UK for public organizations elsewhere in Europe.

For details please contact elke.loeffler@govint.org as it is sometimes possible for places to be made available to a small number of other participants.
